WavEC Offshore Renewables is pleased to announce WavEC Lisbon 2025, its annual international seminar, taking place on 4 December 2025 at the Museu do Oriente in Lisbon.
Organised in collaboration with the Embassy of Brazil in Lisbon, this year’s edition will explore the theme "Portugal and Brazil: Transatlantic Alliance to Boost Floating Wind".
The event will bring together industry experts, policymakers, and researchers to discuss the future of Floating Offshore Wind (FOW) and provide a platform for networking and knowledge exchange.

Experts from development banks, private equity, and project developers will discuss financing models, risk mitigation strategies, and lessons learned from internationalmarkets. Showcase of investment-ready offshore wind projects in both countries. 10:30-11:30 - Session II Opportunities for Joint Industrial Development to Accelerate Offshore Wind Deployment This session discusses the importance of industrial capacity for offshore wind success. Building an industrial and supply chain strategy between Portugal and Brazil, to accelerate offshore wind deployment at scale. 11:30-12:00 - Coffee-break 12:00-13:00 - Session III Driving Innovation: Building Bridges Between Research and Industry for Offshore Wind Here we will hear about the technological synergies in floating platforms, mooring systems, environmental monitoring and digital twin applications. Showcase innovation platforms, test sites, and living labs, emphasizing how pilot projects in Brazilian waters can benefit from Portuguese experience in floating offshore wind. Explore how can joint R&D projects be structured between Portugal and Brazil. 13:00-14:30 - Lunch and Poster Session 14:30-15:30 - Session IV Building Sustainable Offshore Wind: Environmental and Social Pathways for Success As the offshore wind industry prepares to scale up in Portugal and Brazil, building a qualified and resilient workforce becomes a critical priority.
